Homework/Grading Policy & Learning Goals

All classes will follow the same grading scale:
Summative Projects: 70% of class grade
Daily Assignments & Classwork: 30% of class grade
Being a hands-on project based class, most assignments are completed in my classroom. If your student will be gone for several days, please have them check in with me a couple of days beforehand. We can come up with a plan to earn points for those missing days.

7th Grade Goals
Our Classroom Learning Goals
Students will:
- Ask questions and define problems
- Define criteria and constraints of a design problem
- Design & Evaluate solutions for design problems through writing, sketching, solid modeling & mathematical models
- Develop models, both physically and in a cad program, for solutions created to problems
- Participate effectively in conversations and collaborations with all classmates
6th Grade Goals

Students will:

- Define and use the Problem Solving Process
- Design & Evaluate solutions for design problems through writing, sketching, solid modeling & mathematical models
- Develop models for solutions created to problems

8th Grade Goals - AR
Our Classroom Learning Goals
Students will:
- Trace the history, development and influence of automation and robotics
- Create mechanical systems that transfer energy to create machine automation
- Develop coding skills to control mechanical builds
- Participate effectively in conversations and collaborations with all classmates
8th Grade Goals - GA
Our Classroom Learning Goals
Students will:
- Practice dimensioning and measuring skills
- Learn about architectural sustainability
- Develop models both on paper and with Autodesk’s® 3D architectural design software
- Build a model storage unit using concepts learned
- Participate effectively in conversations and collaborations with all classmates
