Dear Third Grader,

Hooray, welcome to third grade! My name is Mrs. Gwinn and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share this incredible time with you! I want to take the time to introduce myself since we will be spending a lot of time together and learning from each other.

After spending my childhood in Michigan, I came to the University of Montana to study Exercise Science. While completing my degree, I had numerous powerful learning experiences which led me to pursue a Masters degree in Exercise Science and Sport Psychology from the University of Idaho. Shortly after completing my graduate degree, I moved to Moab, Utah where I met my husband. We returned to Montana in 2013 and I completed my Masters in Education degree fall 2018. This is my fourth year teaching third grade and I am super excited! It is my hope to share my love for learning with each of you!

My husband and I enjoy rock climbing, mountain biking, backpacking, traveling, and cooking together. In March 2020 our son was born! His name is Deakin. In March of 2023 my second son was born! His name is __________. We have so much fun as parents and it is exciting to watch our boys learn and grow! We also have a five-year-old Catahoula dog named Garth and a four-year-old Catahoula dog named Atlas. They are our ultimate adventure buddies! Also, I’m a competitive runner and run distances from the mile to the marathon!

I am truly looking forward to spending this year with you in 3rd grade! I can only begin to imagine the fun and learning that we will experience together!
