XC Information

  • Cross Country (XC) is considered an individual sport, but we train as a team. Students join Cross Country to be a part of an accepting, motivating, and fun group of students. Athletes in Cross Country have the opportunity to run on beautiful courses throughout the season, meet new people, and better themselves. Athletes not only gain skills in running, but learn valuable life-skills in goal-setting, leadership, and team-work.

    Our philosophy for Big Sky Cross Country is summed up in just a few words. Quality over quantity. We believe in quality miles, not a lot of miles. We want your kids to stay healthy during the season. To train hard, smart and efficient. We accomplish this by our strength training program, hill workouts, speed/tempo runs, drills and easy miles. A successful runner is one that takes recovery days seriously and works hard on workout days.
